What is Ephemeral?

Ephemeral is a flower farm specializing in bouquets and specialty cut flowers. We have half an acre in intense flower cultivation, supplemented by an extensive collection of flowering trees and shrubs for flowering and fruiting branches.

Each year, when spring rains come, we have an ephemeral stream at the base of our slope, hence the name Ephemeral Farm.  We protect the stream and our erodible slopes by keeping the grasses long and continuing to plant trees and shrubs so that rains are able to slowly infiltrate the soils. It's a bit untidy, but the wildlife seems to love it.

Who is Ephemeral?

Ephemeral Farm is a family business run mostly by Heather Loyd, and encouraged by her husband with technical assistance and extra hands on an as-needed basis. Heather is educated and trained as a landscape architect, but prefers the directness of growing, harvesting, and designing bouquets and wreaths. She is still available for hand-rendered landscape designs and consultations on a limited basis.
